The second Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) Malaysian Banknotes Auction is BACK. It will be held on the 29th March 2015 at its state-of-the-art money museum, Sasana Kijang, Kuala Lumpur! This time total lots on auction is 178, with indicative price ranging from RM20 to RM1,500. Yes, you read it right, starting from RM20. Please do not think too much on what’s the probability that you may win. Think a little further about how your investment may give you huge returns many years down the road.
This time BNM will launch 17 lots (do download the pdf file here) specially-framed with a serial number certificate. MNP Auctioneers’s managing director Stephen Soon believes that these lots will receive the hottest bids of the day! They expect many new collectors (newcomers) will join in to bid for the banknotes with special serial number which was reserved by BNM to be auctioned off as auction is an open platform. The ultimate purpose is to give the public an opportunity to own a piece of these one and only banknotes in the world. This second auction has also some improvement especially the authentication part. As there is no public viewing on the banknotes to be auctioned, MNP Auctioneers has prepared a detailed description for the banknotes to give bidders a bit more information and idea about the quality of the banknotes that they are bidding. The special serial number banknotes to be auctioned for this time includes the 4th series that has been circulated since the year 2012.
