MRT Putrajaya Line Phase 1. Completed but not ready to start.

I was invited to take the MRT Line 1, also known as MRT Kajang Line when it first started. Look at the photo below when I was many years younger. They even gave me and these invited guests (famous KC Lau and Ishmael Ho) a MRT bag to ensure everyone can advertise MRT for them. Guess what, I have been waiting for the invite to take the MRT Putrajaya (Phase 1). However, latest news is that this starting will take some more time. Read the article below yeah.

Article in themalaysianreserve.com MRT Corporation Sdn Bhd said that the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Putrajaya Phase One line is still undergoing some rectification by the turnkey operator in preparation for full operations.

On Nov 16, 2021, MRT Corp chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Zarif Hashim said the line may be ready for revenue service in the second quarter (Q2) of 2022. Before this announcement, the Phase 1 of Putrajaya Line was supposed to start from Aug 2021.

For the simulation, a total of 16 trains have been running between Kwasa Damansara MRT Station and Kampung Batu MRT Station in full-service mode – minus the passengers.

MRT Corp said, “Meanwhile, the construction of the MRT Putrajaya Line Phase Two is also progressing well,” As of Oct 4, 2021, the construction of Phase Two line is 93.52 per cent completed, and it is expected to begin operations in January 2023. Article in themalaysianreserve.com

Not the best time to start service

Not many people would love to be seated or even standing next to strangers for 30 minutes or more currently. Thus, perhaps the slight delay can also be a blessing in disguise as well. What is certain is that when the MRT Putrajaya Line starts, the choices of homes for people will also increase. There would be more advertisements with this remark, “5 minutes from XXX MRT station” This remark is supposed to bring some premium to the pricing of the home or rental of the unit.

Well, just need to remember that it really does depend on who is buying these homes nearby some MRT station yeah. Not everyone who buys would prefer to take it versus driving. Not everyone who buys would need to drive to office during peak hours too. Truth is, driving when it’s not peak hour meant that driving provides much more convenience as well as time saving too. However, I am sure it’s going to be needed in future when the government is more serious in stopping people from driving into the city centre.

Happy waiting for it yeah.
