Fortress Australia reopens after 2 years.
I have been to Perth, Melbourne and Sydney. I love all of them and I personally prefer Perth over Melbourne and Sydney and Sydney over Melbourne. My wife and even kids says the same. Hopefully the next place I visit could be another city. Maybe Brisbane? A long time friend owns a cafe there, so I know I will at least get great coffee too. I think the many liveability charts putting many Australian cities at the top in the list are objective enough.
Here’s that latest news about Australia and the international tourists who may have been waiting to visit them again.
Article in themalaysianreserve.com Australia opened its international borders to all vaccinated tourists Monday. This is after 2 years of imposing some of the world’s strictest Covid-19 travel restrictions.
Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce said,“It’s fair to say we’ve all been waiting a long time to welcome visitors back to Australia.” Within this week, Qantas expects to bring than 14,000 passengers into Australia.
Tourism Minister Dan Tehan said, “I think we’re going to see a very, very strong rebound.”
Western Australia will not re-open to international travellers on Monday, holding off until March 3. Do read more here: Article in themalaysianreserve.com
Living with and staying away are very different policies
Now for the really encouraging news especially with how countries are now looking at Covid-19; living with it versus ensuring zero cases. Two very different scenarios. If you like to know, Australia’s average number of new Covid-19 new infections averaged over 21,000 cases for the last 7 days. (As at 19th February 2022) Just google for Covid-19 cases Australia to get the same data.
There are countries lifting fully all the Covid-19 measures. Here’s one of them. Actual numbers. Denmark and Covid-19 restrictions. No need to guess which policy is Malaysia following. We are definitely moving towards living with Covid-19. It’s not going to go away anytime soon. In the mean time, just continue to stay safe, take all necessary precautions too. Looking forward to travelling like usual again in the near future.
