It’s Movement Restriction currently. 18th to 31st March 2020. This is not a curfew as announced by the Inspector-general of Police (read here) He said that movement restriction order was implemented for the sake of national security and public safety. “As such, the public should not spread unverified or fake news which can create uneasiness and worry that the movement control order was similar to a Curfew Order.”
This 14-day movement restriction is to help the authorities all those in need of Covid-19 treatment. Here’s that serious warning to everyone yeah. Article in thestar.com.my Health Ministry says that wedding feasts, as well as gatherings for tahlil prayers and the deceased (kenduri arwah) are not allowed during the two-week restricted movement order period from March 18 to March 31. It said, “The answer is, NOT allowed. This is because they are social gatherings.”
Provisions in Section 11(4) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988, read together with Section 24(2) of the same Act, made such acts a criminal offence from March 18 to March 31, the statement said. The ministry said those who defied the government’s Movement Control Order could be sentenced to a prison term of up to two years, a fine or both, upon conviction. Article in thestar.com.my
