You may be wondering which line is MRT Putrajaya Line. There’s the MRT SBK (Sungai Buloh- Kajang) line. There’s the SSP (Sungai Buloh – Serdang – Putrajaya) line. Which line is this MRT Putrajaya line? Well, the MRT SSP is now simply known as MRT Putrajaya line. I think the reason is because it ends in Putrajaya. Anyway, the SBK is known as the MRT Kajang Line, okay. Below is a media release about public inspection for MRT Putrajaya Line modifications.
MEDIA RELEASE: PUBLIC INSPECTION BEGINS FOR MRT PUTRAJAYA LINE MODIFICATIONS
Modifications were the result of the Government’s cost rationalisation exercise
Kuala Lumpur, 16 September 2020: Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp)
wishes to announce the start of the MRT Putrajaya Line (formerly known as MRT Sungai BulohSerdang-Putrajaya Line) public inspection for modifications to the line’s original railway
scheme. The public inspection will commence on 17 September 2020 and run for three months until 17 December 2020.
Members of the public can inspect site context plans and other documents which show the modifications to the original railway scheme of the line at the Land Public Transport Agency
(APAD) office at the Ground Floor of Menara Tun Ismail Mohamed Ali, Jalan Raja Laut, Kuala Lumpur. The documents will be displayed for inspection from 9.00am to 4.00pm from Monday to Friday except for public holidays.
The modifications to the railway scheme are the result of a cost rationalisation exercise by the
Government for mega infrastructure projects in 2018. Under the exercise, the MRT Putrajaya
Line construction cost was reduced by RM 8.82 billion from RM 39.35 billion to RM 30.53
billion.
The modifications to the original railway scheme are made possible by moving away from the
previous build-to-capacity approach to project construction to building according to demand
based on the revised ridership by the Land Public Transport Agency.
Among the modifications to be carried out are the deferred opening of Bandar Malaysia Utara
and Bandar Malaysia Selatan underground stations, deferment or revision of station entrances
and pedestrian bridges, deferment of multi-storey park and ride facilities which will be
