KLIA and LIA, world’s best airports… in own categories

I have not been to an airport for over two years. I used to go to KL International Airport at least once per month on average. I used to go to the Langkawi International Airport at least once every two years. I do hope to fly again very soon. The number of cases do look scary even if it’s on a downtrend currently.

Both my kids have received their first dose of vaccination and I belong to the group who supports endemic status. So, I do look forward to some flying in the very near future. 1st April 2022 onwards would be the day Malaysia reopens as well. Here’s that latest article. Here is one piece of good news. Two of our airports received the best airport award in their categories.

Article in nst.com.my The Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and Langkawi International Airport (LIA) have been named among the world’s best airports in their respective categories for 2021 in a global Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey by Airports Council International (ACI).

KLIA and LIA achieved a perfect score of 5.00 in the airport categories serving over 40 million passengers per annum (mppa) and two to five mppa respectively, Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) said in a statement.

ASQ benchmarks the world’s best airports in terms of overall passenger satisfaction for terminal safety, facilities, services, and cleanliness. Please do read the full Article in nst.com.my

Best in category is still best yeah

I know, some will say that there are better international airports versus KLIA and LIA. By the way, I do agree and I seriously think Singapore Changi Airport is still the very best airport which I have been thus far. In fact if there are levels in any rating, they are several levels ahead of even other world-class airports. Yes, I rate it better than Hong Kong and even Tokyo’s Narita. However, best in category is still best in that category yeah.

Unless of course someone wants to point out that there’s just one airport in the whole category? Well, if you do have such information, please feel free to share yeah. Else, congratulations to KLIA and LIA for being the best airport… in their class. I will see both of you very soon.
