Two weeks ago, when I visited a friend, she sent me an URL via Whatsapp which will grant me access to her gated and guarded community. I only need to click on it to get a barcode which the guard will scan and then allow me access. I think this will be the trend because even in my current condo, I have been booking all my facilities online. I have not been to the management office for years, actually. Come to think of it, perhaps it’s now a compullsory thing for all new developments. Another developer has taken this further. They are creating an online community engagement platform via a new mobile app called IOI Community. Below is their message.
Message from IOI Properties Group Berhad
IOI Properties Group Berhad (“IOIPG”) has created an online community engagement platform via its mobile app – IOI Community. This is in line with the Group’s focus on fostering sustainable community relations and creating conducive environment for work, stay and play within its developments. The IOI Community app will enhance communication with its customers, leverage on real-time customer feedback to enable prompt customer service and utilise data analytics to continuously improve on products and services delivery.
IOIPG Executive Director Lee Yoke Har said it was necessary for the company to move ahead in tandem with the development of industry 4.0 and stay relevant as Proptech becomes increasingly weaved into everyday life. “Our ultimate aim is to provide more convenience, speedier and more personalised communication, and service delivery platform that will meet the energetic lifestyle of the urban community.”
In today’s ever-changing business environment, it is always important to remain attentive to the community; and through active engagement with its IOI community and employees, IOIPG embraces technology in managing its operations and customer relations to provide products and services that exceed customer expectations.
The IOI Community app enables two-way communication between the property management team and the residents. Some of the features available in the app include e-billing, status check on maintenance fees, booking of facilities, visitor management, defect reporting, push notifications for announcements, e-library where technical information relating to residents’ units can be easily retrieved and contact numbers of service providers such as plumber, air conditioning contractor and renovator.
Through the IOI Community app, residents can check their payment status under the option for “Payment of Maintenance Fees and E-billing”. For visitor management, residents can preregister their guests prior to the visit and enable the guests to scan a QR code to enter into a condominium or service apartment. The app is currently made available to the communities of Clio Residences, Sierra 6 and Almyra Residences. IOIPG plans to roll out the app to other developments including Conezion, N’Dira and Sky Condominium in the next two months.
“Our residents appreciate the IOI Community app as they can get updates, check on their account status and submit their defects in the comfort of their homes even after business hours. This is especially useful for those who are always on the go and cannot make the time to conduct these businesses during office hours. It is convenient and we are extending the app to more communities. We will compile feedback from residents and work on improving the app by adding more features in the future,” added Lee. The IOI Community app can be downloaded for free via Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
