CMCO in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur will CONTINUE past 18th March.

We are in CMCO in Selangor currently.

I have not been back to my hometown in Ipoh for many months. What about you? it has been so long that I have forgotten how long. It seems that this will be delayed even further and that positive announcement I was wishing for did not come true. Briefly, the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) has been extended for another two weeks in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Penang and Kelantan from March 19 to 31.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said this about Selangor, “Selangor still remains under CMCO because most of the localities are still classified as red zones… all districts in Kuala Lumpur are also still red zones with an average 103 cases reported every day.” Please do read that article with all other details in the article in nst.com.my

Okay, objectivity is needed

Number of cases remain high even if it’s already very low when compared to just a few weeks ago. It’s still four digit new cases every day. Remember the time when our active cases were even lower than 4 digits? Well, today we have new cases which are in four digits. Health Ministry said that should this downtrend be continuing, then we could be down to 500 cases per day in May 2021. Somehow, 500 cases do seem to be still a high number. I guess interstate travel would really have to wait longer than April in this case.

Stay safe. We are nowhere near the finishing line yet

Vaccinations seem to be on track but it will definitely be taking many more months and in the meantime, what we could do is not to push up the number of cases. What we could do is to play our part and always wear mask, always have social distancing and always SCAN with MySejahtera before entering any shop. Else, RM10,000 fine awaits and there’s really no need to argue about the fine amount. Just SCAN BEFORE YOU ENTER. Thank you.
