Another 5 theme parks in Iskandar?

How many theme parks do we need to have in Iskandar before it’s too many? I think this is a subjective question right? If there are five water theme parks within the same area, that’s too much. If there are five different theme parks with different entertainment value, it should still be okay. What about more than five? Yes, IRDA just announced that they are in talks with several operates to bring five more international theme parks into Iskandar within the next five years. This deserves a WOW because I have yet to even visit the current ones there. Perhaps I would drop by next year with my two kids.
IRDA’s Chief executive Datuk Ismail Ibrahim said the talks were with parties from Australia, Indonesia, Japan, Europe as well as North America. He allayed some fears too because he said that the parks do not necessarily have to be outdoor. They can be indoor and ICT based too. One may be launching by the year-end or early next year. I think if he can say this, the chances are already pretty good. The current three there include Legoland Malaysia, Hello Kitty and Angry Birds. The one I love to visit the most is without any doubt, Legoland. This is not just a special one for Iskandar but it is attracting many visitors from overseas.
europaparkWhat would I love to see in Iskandar? Well I wish there would be a Disneyland even if I know the chance is very slim as there’s already one in Japan and nearby Hong Kong. If not Disneyland, I think it’s time we have a good one from Europe. If possible perhaps Europa Park from Germany? Look at it’s roller coaster in the image. portaventuraIf not Europa Park, then perhaps the PortAventura Park from Spain? It’s suitable for Iskandar as it is a seaside based theme-park with both the usual as well as water slides and even live shows. Perhaps we can have a great sea-view when we are on the roller-coaster, upside down. Haha. Okay, enough of excite meant for now. Let’s wait for the next announcement from IRDA then. Happy visiting Iskandar theme parks.
