Press Release: JUWAI IQI APPOINTS IPROPERTY FOUNDER LEON KONG TO SENIOR TEAM
Juwai IQI announced today that it had boosted its senior team with the appointment of Leon Kong as General Manager, Online Advertising Solutions, for the company, which operates the Asian real estate super-brands dedicated to empowering residents of Asia to become residents of the world, IQI Global and Juwai Limited.
Kong is the founder of iProperty Group, which attained a valuation of US$534M during its merger with the REA Group (ASX:REA) in 2015 in what was the largest online advertising merger in ASEAN history.
He has nearly two decades of leadership experience in high-growth online real estate and proptech businesses. Kong is transitioning to the full-time, permanent role at Juwai IQI after consulting as a Senior Advisor to the company since early 2019.
In the new role, Kong will lead the team that supports current and potential customers of Juwai.com and Juwai.asia, the two global real estate portals that enable agents and developers to market property to Asian property buyers and reach more than 4.5 million consumers per month.
Kong cofounded iProperty Group in 2003. One of Southeast Asia’s most successful technology start-ups, iProperty Group listed on the Australian Securities Exchange in 2007 and merged with the REA Group in 2015.
Juwai IQI Executive Chairman Georg Chmiel said, “We couldn’t have anyone better than Leon to lead our sales team. At iProperty Group, he achieved an agent penetration rate of 80%, a key element in its success. Again and again, he has proven his ability to build successful relationships with agents and developers, to drive sales growth, and to build a thriving and motivated team.
“Leon is one of the most accomplished Southeast Asian entrepreneurs and is especially accomplished in online real estate advertising. We are thrilled to have Leon take this full-time role after consulting with us since last year.”
Kong said, “Personally, I believe Juwai IQI is the most exciting real estate technology business in the world. It is one of the first to combine a 10,000-strong agent network with online portals. It can offer customers an end-to-end solution for marketing, advertising, and sales.
“At Juwai IQI, we have the technology, the platform, and the consumer reach to deliver to agents and developers the leads and sales that they need. I look forward to helping members of the real estate industry around the world achieve sales in this difficult time.”
