MRT Line 2, Sungai Buloh – Serdang – Putrajaya (SSP) updates

I have faith with the Klang Valley property market. I also have faith with many further and secondary areas which will be connected in the near future. To me, it is never just that few areas always loved by many. It happened to be way too expensive for the majority anyway. Secondary areas would get better, especially since even the MRT Line 2 is always in the news with ever more updates plus MRT Line 1 well on track thus far. Reported in Starbiz, Mass Rapid Transit Corp Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) has awarded over RM20 billion worth of contracts to build the Sungai Buloh-Serdang Putrajaya (SSP) Line as of June 2016. This is 16 packages out of the total of 72 packages.
The three stations from Damansara Damai to Sri Damansara would be built by Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd. (Please do a good job, ok my dear Sunway). 4 new stations between Kepong Sentral to Jinjang will be built by Ahmad Zaki Sdn Bhd. I think this will help to alleviate the jams tremendously especially during peak hours.Perhaps one reason is also because there are just too many traffic lights along this route. There would be 4 new stations from Sri Delima to Jalan Ipoh and this will be built by IJM Construction Sdn Bhd. MRCB would complete the two stations from Cyberjaya to Putrajaya. I did not bother to mention the actual contract worth because if the cost over-runs, the one in trouble is the MRT Corp. So, I wish them the best, just benchmark MRT Line 1 and make it better.
propertyinsightMRTMRT Corp said that 90 percent of 10,000 respondents at 27 different locations was positive for the SSP Line. In fact, it will be serving a population of around 2 million people from Sungai Buloh to Putrajaya. (Seriously, I think it will be more, especially with more people moving to this part of the Klang Valley with the new residential projects)  Phase 1 of the MRT Line 2 is targeted for completion by July 2021, consisting of 12 stations. It will run from Kwasa Damansara to Kampung Batu. Full completion will be second quarter of 2022. (Just less than 6 years away, pretty fast really). Do refer to the image from PropertyInsight.com.my for reference for all stations. Happy constructing to MRT Corp.
