Public Park in Battersea London, let’s take a stroll.

When I was in Perth few months ago, the thing I love most about the city are the parks. There were so many of them, there was one within every neighbourhood and most of them are clean and with a cooling temperature, it was amazingly relaxing. I saw something similar when I saw an article about the public park in Battersea project, London. Yes, this is definitely a Malaysian project in one of the property capitals of the world. It looks nice and I told my wife that should we visit London again, we should take a stroll. Not owning a unit there is okay, the public park is for all to share anyway.

The public park is due to open in phases from 2017. The designer is LDA Design. The size of the park is six acres and this is basically something which was committed to the public. It features a large event lawns, terraced river gardens and form a highly flexible, multi-programmable space for use throughout the year. (I would love to see what it can be used for during winter)  The 42-acre Battersea project site is being developed by a consortium comprising SP Setia Bhd, Sime Darby Bhd and Employees Provident Fund. Of course there has been many who has protested to the project as well. Some blaming the developers for building homes which are way too expensive for Londoners to buy. I do not own a unit but I happen to know of one friend who has actually bought a unit in the first phase. I think when the time comes, I will somehow reconnect with the friend and perhaps visit him if we happens to be in London when I visit London again. Who knows there may be a cafe serving teh tarik there? I am quite sure it would be a great hit even though Londoners have their Earl Grey and Breakfast Tea….. Happy visiting when the time comes.
