Nilai as a potential home?

nilaiI think if you are close to retirement age and has been working and staying nearby KL city centre, this is not something for serious consideration. However for those who have  started working for a few years and is now looking for a spacious home in an area which is already well connected? Note though that the driving duration may be an extra 30 minutes to reach KL city centre. Yes, extra 30 minutes because even if you stay somewhere nearer, you would still need to drive 10 minutes to reach KL city centre anyway.  There’s an article about Nilai in NST.  My first encounter with Nilai was way back in 1998 and a later my brother-in-law studied there for a few years. During his time, he had to eat nasi lemak nearly every other day because there were not many choices. In fact there were only students, students and students. According to the article, Nilai has the following today:

nilaiimpianThe developers developing Nilai as per the article include Nilai Resources, Sime Darby Property and even PNB Development Sdn Bhd. Sime Darby’s development is known as Nilai Impian and they have built the Nilai Impian interchange which provided the communities with better access to the township and adjacent areas. The new interchange was built as a joint initiative between Sime Darby Property, the Malaysian Highway Authority and PLUS at RM30 million. According to PNB Development chief executive officer Mohd Salem Kailany, the company is now selling townhouses and terraced units priced below RM600,000.
