Demand will determine rental and prices. What’s happening in Manjung?

Sitiawan is located within the district of Manjung in Perak. This is the hometown of my father and it’s a place I visit a few times every year. It’s quite a happening place (please do not compared to Kuala Lumpur yeah) and I could feel the growth every time I am in Manjung. This is especially when compared to my hometown Ipoh as well as that town with a world title called Taiping. (read here for the title) Plus, it is now along the route of the West Coast Expressway (WCE) too and this will mean even more accessibility and connectivity too. (read more on WCE here) Here’s more news about Manjung, Perak.

Article in nst.com.my There is a new development with a gross development value (GDV) of RM2 billion in Manjung. The development is called Riverbank Cove and it is situated in the rivermouth of Sungai Tiong overseeing Pangkor Island. The plan is a 52-hectare development with residential and commercial properties, a healthcare centre, a boutique hotel and student accommodation. The developer is Perak based RH Consortium Sdn Bhd.

RH Consortium group chief executive officer Hamzarul Hazmir Hamdan said the Manjung district is surpassing Taiping and Ipoh in terms of rental rate and sale price thanks to all the industries located there. Manjung is home to TNB Janamanjung, Petronas oil terminal, Sapura Energy fabrication yard, shipbuilding companies, mineral companies who export their products through Lumut port, and Vale, a Brazilian iron ore firm. There is also UniKL with 2,000 students and this number will grow to 5,000 within a few years. Please do read more details in the Article in nst.com.my

I really do think I should drop by and take a few pictures and report the latest update on this project in my next trip to Sitiawan. A check via AirbnB today for a place in Manjung to stay next weekend reveal that there are indeed a good number of choices and a very good number of superhosts too which is a good sign. Will keep everyone updated. Happy visiting Manjung yeah. Lots to eat, lots to see and lots to do. That’s another article.
