Penang-Singapore VTL starts in 11 days
I cannot claim I know Penang well enough if compared to a Penangite. 🙂 However, I can easily claim I know Penang very well versus anyone who’s stayed in Penang less than 15 years. Haha. Yes, I started my career after graduation in Penang for the first 15 years of my working life. I was 21 at the same and I stayed until 36. Penang is a very attractive place for tourists. It’s also convenient to working people too. Everything is just so nearby! More about this below the news article yeah. For now, let’s just take in this good news.
Article in nst.com.my State Tourism and Creative Economy Committee chairman Yeoh Soon Hin said that the Penang-Singapore Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) will be starting March 16. He said, “The VTL scheme plays a pivotal role prior to the full resumption of international tourism as it will serve as the benchmark for future international travelling activities.
Penang has long been instilling the importance of standard operation procedures (SOP) compliance among industry players and members of the public, which is evident through the Responsible Tourism campaign.”
Yeoh, during a visit to the Penang International Airport (PIA) in Bayan Lepas On Tuesday, had said the airport had put in place all the necessary preparations for the launch of the Penang-Singapore VTL. Do read the full article here: Article in nst.com.my
Tourists in Penang?
Imagine just walking around the UNESCO Heritage places, feeling the vibes, stopping for a bowl of cendol, speaking to some locals and well just hanging around. The only issue is perhaps the sun but the sun is better than the rain… As for the working people… one can leave work at 6pm and by 8pm, walking along the beaches in Ferringhi and feeling the sea breeze. It’s REAL SAND by the way.
Working in Penang?
During the weekends, visit the National Park, go up the Bukit Bendera, enjoy ESCAPE Penang and more. How many places in this world where one could actually do all that and everything is like 30 minutes from one another or less. Even if there are, Penang is one of them yeah. Now for some good news for Penang economy. Many Singaporeans may be dropping by very soon.
Yes, I still have properties in Penang
I have moved to KL for 9 years. I remain invested in Penang properties. I do think that it’s a long term investment and will not sell unless someone offered me good prices. I have told my good friend who’s a really good Real Estate Negotiator about my ‘desperate’ selling price and he has been laughing since few years ago and he is still laughing today. Haha. It’s okay, let’s hold for a while more.
Happy travelling to Penang for my Singaporean friends. It will be a worthy vacation.
