MRT Putrajaya Line a.k.a Line 2 is not ready for all of us yet. Phase 1 of the line yeah, not the full line yet. That one is next year.
Frankly, I am waiting to take the MRT Putrajaya Line when they are open to the public. A short round trip to feel the a few stations, the new trains and the facilities. Will also take some photos and report to everyone who wants to know more about the MRT Putrajaya Line. Yes, I am proud that our second MRT Line is about to open to the public.
By the way, I was invited to attend as media when they started the MRT Line 1 which is now known as MRT Kajang Line. The photo below as proof. Haha. I was with the famous personal finance guru KC Lau and Ishmael Ho, CEO of Ho Chin Soon Research. I wonder if I will be invited again. Well, have to see who they engage as the PR company then. Some PR company may not know kopiandproperty.my yet… 😛
Article in freemalaysiatoday.com MRT Corp chief executive officer Mohd Zarif Hashim said that the opening timeline would have to be revised because of incomplete activities during the trial operations. He said, “The trial operations for the MRT Putrajaya Line Phase 1 section has been ongoing since April 29.”
He said, “A total of 16 trains have been running between Kwasa Damansara MRT Station and Kampung Batu MRT Station in full-service mode daily but without passengers to simulate actual operations.”
“During this period, the ‘final detailed inspection and system performance demonstration’ were carried out. However, the two activities have not been completed.”
“As a result, MRT Corp is not able to take possession of the asset from the appointed turnkey contractor.”

Some details of MRT Putrajaya Line
It is longer than the MRT Kajang Line. The Putrajaya Line (previously known as Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya Line) will serve a corridor with a population of around 2 million people stretching from Kwasa Damansara, a new township development in northwest Kuala Lumpur and its southern suburbs, to Putrajaya, Malaysia’s federal administrative centre.
Total length is 57.7km of which 44.2km are elevated tracks and 13.5km running through underground tunnels. In total, there would be 36 operational stations of which 27 are elevated and 9 underground. In anticipation for future, a further 4 stations have been provided too.
Sixteen stations will have park and ride facilities. This is definitely a good idea because otherwise, all these cars would be driven into the city centre which does not make sense and will just make the MRT less popular and jams to continue.
