MRT Circle Line (Line 3)’s open tender in 2022

MRT Circle Line (Line 3)’s open tender in 2022

Why MRT Circle Line cannot happen so soon?

Okay, realistically the MRT Circle Line would only start construction after MRT Putrajaya Line (Line 2) has started and everything’s progressing smoothly. The reason is a simple one. MRT Circle Line is to complete the MRT Kajang Line and MRT Putrajaya Line. So, when is MRT Putrajaya Line going to be completed? Well, there’s a slight delay in the opening for Phase 1. (Read the latest update here)

Now that we know this little fact, so what’s happening to the MRT Circle Line then? Positive news definitely. Below are some latest updates.

Article in themalaysianreserve.com Mass Rapid Transit Corp Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) CEO Datuk Mohd Zarif Hashim said the group is finalising funding plans for the MRT Circle Line with the government. He shared that the scheme for MRT3 is not the same as MRT1 and MRT2, thus the structure will be different.

He said, “Give us more time to finalise the funding plan and we hope to come back to you in the early part of next year.”

The total length of the Circle Line would be 50km and it will have over 30 stations and 10 interchange stations inside the capital city. There will be 40% underground routes. (It’s in the city centre… surely there will be more underground routes yeah). Do read for more details in the article here: Article in themalaysianreserve.com

Why do Circle Line complement all other lines?

Imagine we want to ask everyone to use the MRT fully as their main transportation mode. Now imagine trying to change stations. Currently, it’s going to be a long journey because there are not enough interchange stations. This is something which Circle Line will be changing. It will make changing lines / stations become more seamless and well, cut the time needed to change. Not everyone just one want to go from Point A to Point B yeah.

Will continue updating lah since this is still going to take quite a long time. Perhaps more photos of the Putrajaya Line once it opens would be the next article. Cheers.
