Millennials are a very powerful group indeed. Please be aware yeah.
They say one picture tells a thousand words. This is why I always love to drop by visualcapitalist.com every now and then. This time, we look at the Millennials. These are the people born between 1984 and 1994. So they are currently within the ages of 27 to 37. If you are younger, then you are under Gen-Z. If you are older, you are in my category, Gen-X. So, how will Millennials impact the world we live in? Let’s look at some slides then. All are from visualcapitalist.com
Sheer Number of millennials in the world?
They are 1.8 billion strong. This is a WOW. As they are at the age where they have the capability to invest, many services are targeted at them. Properties for example is one. Units are built closer to public transport as millennials are likely to be still single but may already be a manager and they are not likely to be someone who drives 40 minutes just to reach the office everyday…
Education Level of the Millennials?
It does seem that the ladies are doing better than the men yeah. They are 20% more likely to be higher educated than men in North America and this goes up to close to 30% in Europe. So, if you are a lady millennial, wow great job. if you are a man millennial, it’s really the time to study harder. 😛
Higher Education means a better starting point and they have the numbers
If the question is, do they have higher purchasing powers than the Gen-X for example, it’s really debatable. Gen-Xers may have more money but Millennials are more willing to spend. However if the question is whether Millennials will continue to be the focus for many years to come, the answer is YES.
They have the numbers and they have are educated which meant that they will continue to rise in their careers too. Plus… this is the group which are the usual successful Start-Up entreprenuers too. They are also vocal and this helps companies to understand them better versus the more reserved Gen-Xers.
