Melaka state election. Really “amazing” that this happens.
Just this morning, I was chit-chatting with a good friend on the state of Covid-19 here in Malaysia. I told him my focus is on ICU cases and not the total cases. In fact I do think the number of cases will rise if the government allows inter-state travel and people need to understand this. A better measure is the number of ICU cases because this will eventually lead to death cases.
Everyone has forgotten what happened with the last state election?
One big reason for the sudden rise in the number of cases was because of just ONE state election previously. NOW, there is this announcement that we will be having the Melaka state election. It’s really “amazing” that just when things are really looking better, when inter-state travel will be allowed in the near future and the ICU cases are down to 60 percent versus over 100% just over one month ago… people want to go and vote for their favourite political parties again. Really?

Perhaps we can have inter-state travel but one state is excluded from this arrangement?
Stop saying that there would be strict SOPs or even strict enforcements or however intensive the preparations would be.
When a state election happens, in this case, Melaka, we are talking about hundreds of thousands of people coming out to vote within one day. Sorry, it’s within a few hours. A few hundred thousands of people coming out to vote within a few hours. We can control them yeah. Plus all the political party supporters who will be there for the whole day. I think I have made my point. All the best my dear Malaccans. Your election is a very dangerous one for all of us here in Malaysia.
