LaLaport BBCC is opening on 20th January 2022. That’s… today.
My first article on Lalaport was way back in 2016. Here’s that article. Yes, you can feel from the article that I am pro-more malls versus stop all malls just because people kept saying there are too many malls. Please ensure BETTER malls are allowed to be built to serve shoppers like me and in the process the malls which are just not well managed should undergo transformation or just do something else. There are many such malls today unfortunately while at the same time there are malls which you find it hard to get a car park space.
Article in theedgemarkets.com Mitsui Fudosan Co Ltd, a Tokyo-based real estate company, will commence the operations of LaLaport BBCC on Thursday. Lalaport is part of the mixed-use development of Bukit Bintang City Centre in Kuala Lumpur. This will be the second LaLaport shopping mall overseas after Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Shanghai Jinqiao.
LaLaport BBCC has a total floor area of 133,000 sq m, a store area of 82,600 sq m and about 2,400 parking bays. There will be about 400 stores to be opened in stages, starting from this month. There will be a lot of Japanese brands which will be in LaLaport BBCC. They include F&B outlets like Shin’Labo and Star Child which is a nursery school that incorporates Japanese-style childcare and intellectual education.
There will also be a 1,400-seating capacity Garden Dining Food Court, along with Gourmet Street and Depachika Marche. MFBBCC Retail Mall managing director Kohei Kawashima told City & Country that the mall is now 70% tenanted. Please do read the article for more details: Article in theedgemarkets.com
I am definitely one of the visitors, soon.
Will show everyone some photos of LaLaport BBCC when I visit it soon. After so much Korean themed brands, now is the time for some Japanese power as well. I have visited both countries and I have visited Japan 3 times and probably 6 different cities. I have visited South Korea once. No prizes to guess which country I prefer to visit more. I do think BBCC is situated in a popular area and it will help to build up the popularity of Bukit Bintang area further. That’s a good thing yeah. Happy shopping everyone.
